A simple request

wisdom to see grace
strength to carry my burdens
this is all I ask

selectively shared

don't let reticence
prevent you from finding life

The brave one

the strength in our heart
shining forth when life is dark
this we call courage

A good morning

the sun breaks anew
each dawning day holds promise
light and hope spring forth

The day after

like rushing water
the new year flows in and out
wearing us with age

Having a happy one

as wind lifts the wing
so new years lifts the spirit
causing us to soar

Speak carefully

the tongues razor edge
cuts deeper than any knife
wield it cautiously

The long climb

Jack and Jill traverse
a mountain of hope and fate
chasing destiny

lords of land and sky
lumbering titans of yore
now fuel for our cars

eXuberantly
eXtolling eXcrement to
eXtract eXtra votes

troublesome trifle
trilling tediously twixt
politico tongues

profusely pleading
precious public opinion
politicians preen

At rest

sleep... perchance to dream
so serenely slumbering
naught for which to wake

Compromise

Good threatens greatness
But perfection kills progress
Balance is the key

fortitude

mettle forged in time
hardened by experience
wheted with knowledge
